Managing athletes, teams and groups

How athletes, teams and groups fit together, and three ways to add swimmers to a group.

How it fits together

  • Athletes are the core of your roster. Create a swimmer once and they can belong to as many teams and groups as you need, with no duplicates.

  • Teams and groups are folders that make your roster easier to navigate. Teams sit above groups, like a folder and its subfolders.

For example:

  • Men's team: Senior 1, Senior 2, Sprint, Distance

  • Women's team: Sprint, Mid-distance, IM/Stroke

Don't need that extra layer? A club with 30 swimmers can skip teams and just use groups, or skip both and work from the full athlete list. One swimmer can be in several groups at once, for example Women's team, Senior 1 and Sprint.

Where teams and groups show up

  • Live tab: switch groups with the left button, bottom right. This sets which swimmers you can pick when you record.

  • Browse tab: switch folders with the selector in the bottom-right corner.

  • Several iPads: iPads on the same Hub can each work in a different group at the same time. See Using several iPads at once.

Adding swimmers to groups

  1. When you add them: open the group's folder first, then add swimmers. See Adding athletes and uploading a roster.

  2. From a swimmer's profile: open their folder → three dots (top right) → Groups → tap the group.

  3. From the Browse tab: folder selector (bottom right) → Edit groups. Create or manage groups here; tap a group (for example Sprint) to see every swimmer on the Hub and tick the ones to add.
