Your first recording

Pick your cameras, pick a swimmer, hit record, and find the video afterwards.

Once your cameras are set up, recording is three taps: pick a group, pick a swimmer, hit record.

Step 1: Connect your iPad to the Hub

Join the SwimClips WiFi network. Not sure how? See First-time camera and app setup.

Step 2: Open the Live tab

You'll see every connected camera, live. The icons along the top right, left to right: open your last recording, turn on the iPad's camera, scan for cameras, refresh the feeds, and admin tools you won't need. Full list in the App icon guide.

Step 3: Choose which cameras to record

  • All cameras (most common): don't tap any. Hit record and every camera records at once.

  • Some cameras: tap the ones you want. Each selected camera gets a blue outline and a ✓. The outline turns red once you're recording.

Optional: Add the iPad's own camera

Tap the video camera icon in the top right to bring up the iPad camera. While it's open, it records along with the Hub cameras. The red circle in its window records with the iPad camera only.

Step 4: Pick a swimmer and record

Bottom right of the Live tab, three buttons:

  • Left: team or group

  • Middle: athlete

  • Right: record start and stop

Heads up: if you don't pick a swimmer, the video goes into the No athlete folder. Nothing's lost; you can assign it later. See My video went to "No athlete".

Step 5: Find your recording

  • Fastest: the replay icon, top right of the Live tab, opens the last recording.

  • Browse tab → Latest collections, or open the swimmer's folder.

  • From inside any recording, tap the clock icon in the top bar for the latest ones.
